Founded in 2001 by four new graduates, Yemeksepeti is the leading Turkish online food delivery platform. The vision of these ambitious and innovative minds was to create the biggest kitchen in the world. Today, Yemeksepeti is an essential partner for its hungry users and an absolute ‘love mark’. In 14 years, the tiny company of four young people grew up to be large operation: Yemeksepeti receives 3 million monthly orders from 10.000 partner restaurants and operates with its 400 employees. Yemeksepeti is run by co-founder and CEO Nevzat Aydın.
Born in 1976 in Istanbul, Nevzat Aydın graduated from Bursa Anadolu High School. He studied computer engineering at Boğaziçi University and after graduating went to Silicon Valley to pursue his MBA degree at the University of San Francisco. There, he followed and analyzed developments in e-business. In 2000, he returned to Turkey to found yemeksepeti.com which had a deep impact on the e-business concept in the country and became the leading online food delivery portal in Turkey. Nevzat Aydın is the co-founder and global CEO of Yemeksepeti, which introduced a new breath to the Turkish e-commerce market. The company later on expanded to the Middle East with their global brand Foodonclick.com and currently serves in the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan and Greece. Nevzat Aydın was among the 150 entrepreneurs invited from all around the world to the Entrepreneurship Summit held by USA President Barack Obama in April, 2010. In 2013, he was named the first on Fortune’s “40 Under 40” list. Currently, Mr. Aydın is a member of Endeavor Turkey Board, TOBB Young Entrepreneurs Supreme Board and a founding member of Galata Business Angels.
