Delivery Hero consolidates technological advantage by purchasing 9Cookies

Delivery Hero today announces the acquisition of 9Cookies, a provider of POS system apps for restaurants and delivery services. With the acquisition Delivery Hero shows it is continuing to invest heavily in innovative technology.

Founded in Berlin in 2012, start-up 9Cookies is developing smart, user-friendly restaurant technology with 30 employees. Best example for this is the 9Cookies GastroPad, an internet-based system that not only takes over a restaurant’s cash register function, but can manage the whole operations process.

9Cookies’ specifically developed iPad system allows restaurants to administer tables, process card payments, analyse sales figures and manage marketing tools. At the same time, customers are provided with the opportunity to call their waiter and place their order through the system.

Through the acquisition, Delivery Hero has reinforced its technological leadership in the takeaway market, with the 9 Cookies POS system supporting everything from the point of order to delivery driver management.
