Discover D&I in the Workplace

Ingraining D&I into the employee lifecycle

Committing to D&I means ingraining it into each and every stage of our Heroes’ journeys. This effort starts when candidates first apply: our communications and employer branding strategies have been developed with inclusion in mind and our hiring process is designed to minimize bias. Our Heroes can find inclusivity in everything we do – they will get onboarded to our D&I strategy, receive regular 360° feedback aimed to challenge bias in performance reviews, and get individual support for their professional development.

Delivery Hero Tech Academy

Fully funded by Delivery Hero and in cooperation with the Digital Career Institute (”DCI”), the Delivery Hero Tech Academy (“DHTA”) is a 9.5 month program that teaches students from the Java and Python programming languages to prepare them for a career as an entry-level engineer at Delivery Hero. Catered to people without any experience in programming, the DHTA aims to increase diversity and representation in the tech industry. Find out more.

An inclusive workplace

A core part of our commitment to D&I is ensuring that all our Heroes have a fully accessible workplace design that respects, recognizes and empowers them regardless of their identity. Key design features include gender neutral bathrooms, health and lactation rooms, a parents and kids space, free feminine hygiene products, tactile flooring, kitchen amenities placed at accessible heights and a multifaith prayer room.

All Heroes are encouraged to engage and reflect on how they can contribute to a more inclusive culture. For managers, a range of trainings including managing unconscious bias, leading culturally diverse teams and how to live our People Leader Principles (PLPs) are available.

D&I survey

To enable us to understand the composition of our employee population and whether identity impacts how included Heroes feel at work, a D&I survey is conducted annually. The results of the survey provide important insights, allowing us to aim higher for all our Heroes.

Our HeroCommunities

Led by our Heroes and open to all, our employee resource groups (“HeroCommunities”) provide a space for historically underrepresented voices in our industry and their allies. United by a shared identity or life experience, our HeroCommunities drive initiatives that promote diversity, provide community and encourage an inclusive culture.
