Danish Hungry For Delivery Hero’s Technology

Ex-Just Eat director buys Delivery Hero technology

The Danish online food delivery platform Hungry.dk has announced its technology part nership with Delivery Hero. Only a week ago, Hungry.dk launched with more than 200 restaurants. The team behind the company are old employees from Just Eat – the main competitor of Delivery Hero – a fact which makes the deal quite explosive. Hungry.dk Founder and ex-Just Eat Managing Director, Morten Larsen, told journalists, “We reviewed many options but in the end we decided to partner up with Delivery Hero as they have superior technologies and are the innovation leader which is a key to win this market.”

Delivery Hero continuously accents its purpose to stand out from the tight market by offering more services and innovation. This has already been proven with the development of a point of sales terminal, and a variety of mobile choices – not only for Android and iPhone but also Windows Phone and iPad. “We invest a lot in the choice and quality of user experience,” Delivery Hero CEO Niklas Östberg explains. “For instance smart algorithms to give our users best recommendations based on feedback from our user generated reviews.”

Östberg decided to partner up with Larsen because “he was successfully building up Just Eat over the past years and knows this industry inside out.” A technology partnership between both companies will include a variety of projects. For example, Hungry.dk launched its website using the proven technical platform from Delivery Hero, and will be implementing a new restaurant ordering process based on Delivery Hero’s innovations.
