Delivery Hero awards start-up that fights food waste

ResQ Club intends to further expand its business with the expertise of the Berlin delivery service

Berlin, 23 October 2017 – Delivery Hero awarded ResQ Club from Finland with the “Hero Award for Social Entrepreneurship”, which was launched this year. Headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, ResQ Club is active in Finland, Sweden and Germany and is dedicated to reducing food waste. To this end, ResQ Club cooperates with restaurants and hotels that sell their surplus food at reduced prices to consumers.

ResQ Club customers are informed via app about the current available surpluses and can pick up the selected food as a take-away portion. In its three European markets, the start-up has already saved more than 350,000 portions from going to waste.

ResQ Clubs CEO Oula Antere accepted the Hero Award in Berlin, which is endowed with EUR 15,000. The Finnish start-up will now pass through a mentoring program, in which Delivery Hero experts from various disciplines will support the ResQ team.
