Delivery Hero further increases investments in India
It has been made public this week that online food ordering platform Delivery Hero has expanded to India. After a successful cooperation with TastyKhana, which began in 2012, Delivery Hero is now increasing investments in its Indian partner.
The focus of TastyKhana lies especially in the mobile sector. Mobile has shown an increase in sales by 40 percent within the last months. TastyKhana is also the only Indian online food delivery company which offers apps for Android, iPhone and Blackberry.
“The strength in our core markets allows us to invest in smaller, innovative companies like TastyKhana to accompany them with technological know-how and financial resources on their way to the top,” said Niklas Östberg, CEO of Delivery Hero.
After investing in India, Delivery Hero is now represented in 14 countries worldwide, six of which it is market leader and in four it takes a strong second place. Choosing TastyKhana as a partner, after intensive market observation, should come as no surprise to industry experts, as Östberg repeatedly emphasizes his goal to become a mobile pioneer.
With innovation at the forefront, the Berlin-based company has developed a sophisticated point of sale terminal, specifically for its restaurants, and is mobile in every area: not only iPhone and Android, but also iPad and Windows Phone. Furthermore, more money has been invested in a better search and ranking algorithm.
