A new data paradigm for Glovo: implementation of Data Mesh architecture

With the fast growth of Glovo, data became increasingly dispersed inside the company. Eventually, the company reached the point where each business unit was doing its own analysis of the available data, creating differences in the data quality each unit provided. To solve this issue, Glovo partnered with Thoughtworks to develop a comprehensive data strategy to address some of the challenges and to move to a new paradigm: Data Mesh. Glovo’s Chief Technology Officer, Narek Verdian, explains this journey together with Thoughtworks in a Case Study “Data mesh: it’s not just about tech, it’s about ownership and communication“.

Enhancing the delivery experience with Yebo, the mall robot

Bringing even more convenience and innovation to the delivery experience, Yemeksepeti began indoor robot delivery in Istanbul’s Akasya Mall in October. Yebo, the robot, picks up the order from the restaurant and delivers it to the courier at the mall door. The robot has multiple compartments, meaning it can pick up more than one order from different restaurants within the mall simultaneously. The robot then proceeds to the exit door of the mall where it meets the courier to deliver it onwards.
